Location: Remote
Clearance: US Citizen with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance required. This position supports a government contract

We are seeking a Software Development Manager that is able to oversee a remote team spread out across the country.

Job Description:

- A self-motivated leader with at least 15+ years of overall experience and at least 5+ years of managerial experience in software development
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in successful completion of several parallel projects and organization level initiatives.
- Responsible for creating project roadmaps, providing inputs to executive committee for strategic planning of Organization level initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships to gain efficiency, improve resource utilization and boost cross-team productivity.
- Recommend process improvements, implement ideas and guide the development team to improve team productivity and team capabilities.
- Mentor team members according to the business goals and demands of stakeholders and according to their individual performance goals.
- Consistently evaluate team member progress against performance goals through direct observation, 1:1 sessions and review of finished deliverables
- Create a team environment of continuous improvement by asking, listening, communication and coaching team members.
- Develop performance metrics and KPIs to measure and monitor the health of the agile teams and their deliveries.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field required.
- An active Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is desired.
- Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate at all organization levels.
- Experience with Agile framework and working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading and managing remote teams is required.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting solutions and program status to upper management and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated Software Development Life Cycle experience with understanding of best practices in modern application development.
